Who is the new MacBook Air M4 for?

• iMovie video editing is 8 times faster 

• Adobe Photoshop processes images 3.6 times faster 

For users who demand speed, this means one thing: maximum performance without compromise. Final Cut Pro, intensive graphic editors, and demanding apps — the M4 handles them all without hesitation. 

And what about gaming? While the MacBook Air isn’t built for hardcore gamers, it runs Baldur’s Gate 3 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at a steady 30 fps. Online games load without issues. The 2025 MacBook Air proves that compact doesn’t mean limited.  

Memory Sets the Standard for Speed 

The updated MacBook Air with the M4 chip marks a new level of performance. In its base version, it comes with 16GB of unified memory that functions as both RAM and video memory. For those who need more, configurations with 24GB and even 32GB are now available — a first for the Air lineup. This LPDDR5X memory offers bandwidth up to 120 GB/s, making the laptop exceptionally fast.

13.6 and 15.3 Inches — Two Display Options 

Why reinvent a screen that’s already near-perfect? With the new MacBook Air, Apple chose to retain the same IPS Liquid Retina display. It’s available in two sizes — 13.6 and 15.3 inches — with resolutions of 2560×1664 and 2880×1864 pixels respectively. Both offer a pixel density of 224 ppi and a brightness level of 500 nits. The refresh rate remains a steady 60 Hz, and the notch for the camera and sensors is still there. 

While the Pro models boast mini-LED displays with up to 1600 nits of brightness and 120 Hz refresh rates, the MacBook Air M4 still manages to impress. Color accuracy is excellent, white balance is spot-on, and the screen holds up well even in bright sunlight. True Tone adjusts the color temperature automatically based on your environment. 

Just a note: the display isn’t water-resistant — using it near water, like in a bathroom or by the pool, isn’t recommended. 

Center Stage — An Enhanced Camera Experience 

The 2025 Air series introduces a brand-new 12MP ultra-wide camera, perfect for 1080p video calls. Its standout feature, Center Stage, automatically adjusts the frame to keep you centered, even as you move around. 
 

Another breakthrough is Desk View — a feature that lets you show both yourself and your workspace without needing to touch the laptop. The image quality is noticeably sharper, colors are more vibrant, and low-light noise has been significantly reduced. It’s a perfect upgrade for professional meetings and creative video sessions alike.

All-Day Battery Life for Work and Beyond 

The MacBook Air M4 impresses not only with its performance but also with its battery life. The base 13.6-inch model has received a battery upgrade, now featuring a 53.8 Wh unit. The 15.3-inch version retains its 66.5 Wh battery, which is still more than enough to power through a full workday. 

On a full charge, you can expect up to 15 hours of web browsing and 18 hours of video streaming. Charging options are solid too: the smaller model supports 30W charging via USB-C and up to 35W through Dual USB-C. The larger version supports 35W Dual USB-C charging, along with ultra-fast 70W charging support. 

Operating System Highlights 

The MacBook Air M4 runs on macOS Sequoia 15.3.1, with an update to version 15.4 expected in April. The device is fully integrated with Apple Intelligence, unlocking a new level of convenience and smart features. 
 

The interface offers a clean, minimalist experience where every detail is thoughtfully placed, and navigation feels intuitive. iPhone mirroring, the new Game Mode, and improved window management all enhance productivity and comfort.
