iPad Pro M5 2025 Overview: Everything About the Thinnest Tablet 

On October 15, Apple unveiled the M5 chip with a new level of performance. And immediately presented a tablet with it — the iPad Pro M5, which expands the boundaries of such gadgets, providing a high level of performance and efficiency. 

Release Date and Sales Launch 

The iPad Pro M5 will be released in Azerbaijan on October 30, 2025. You can already order the tablet from iSpace — online or in physical stores in Baku.

Features and Configurations 

The new Apple iPad Pro M5 has a recognizable design and remains the thinnest gadget in the lineup — the 13-inch model is only 5.1 mm thick. The new product is available in two colors: Space Black and Silver. It comes in two sizes: 11 and 13 inches. 

The Ultra Retina XDR display supports optimal contrast and an exceptional peak brightness of 1600 nits for HDR content, equipped with ProMotion and True Tone technologies. Watching movies on such a screen is a pleasure. It also copes well with photo and video editing, gaming, and professional design projects. 

The oleophobic coating prevents fingerprints from appearing on the glass, while the anti-glare coating allows you to use the device comfortably even on a bright sunny day. Models with 1–2 TB of storage (ranging from 256 GB to 2 TB) are also available with nano-texture glass for even greater glare reduction. 

There is also a 12 MP wide-angle camera with 5x digital zoom and adaptive True Tone flash. There is also a LiDAR sensor for working with three-dimensional space, augmented reality, and creating a depth map of the space. You can record video in 4K ProRes format with cinematic stabilization support. The model has four speakers and studio-quality microphones. 

There is a 12 MP camera with Center Stage technology on the front. During conferences or when recording video messages, it automatically keeps you in the center of the frame, even if you move. 

M5 processor 

The main changes concern the innovative M5 chip. How it differs: 

• significantly increased graphics performance; 

• special attention paid to energy efficiency and artificial intelligence tasks; 

• increased the overall computing power of the device. 

The processor is optimized for energy efficiency. There have been qualitative changes in artificial intelligence performance: Apple’s Intelligence performance is 3.5 times faster than the previous generation chip and 5.6 times faster than the M1. 

The multithreading and graphics performance capabilities of the 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU with a neural accelerator in each core are 20-30% higher than those of the M4 chip. Combined with 153 GB/s of memory bandwidth, this allows for faster request processing and ensures particularly smooth performance with complex, resource-intensive tasks. The 16-core Neural Engine complements the neural accelerators in the processors, significantly improving LLM performance. 

In practice, the M5 chip significantly outperforms the M4 in terms of speed for many tasks: 

• 3D ray tracing rendering — 1.5 times faster; 

• video transcoding in Final Cut Pro — 1.2 times faster; 

• AI image generation in Draw Things — 2 times faster; 

• AI-powered video scaling in DaVinci Resolve — 2.3 times faster. 

At the same time, you can take advantage of the capabilities of a personal intelligent system without worrying about security. Confidentiality is guaranteed: no one has access to your data, including the manufacturer. 

Network Capabilities, Power Supply, and Battery 

Bluetooth 6 and Wi-Fi 7 with an N1 chip and simultaneous dual-band support ensure fast and secure wireless connectivity. This allows you to quickly transfer photos, documents, and large files, such as high-resolution videos. The 2025 model features a C1X modem, as in the iPhone Air, and 5G support. The gadget also supports eSIM technology. 

The device’s energy efficiency is also impressive. The battery lasts for a whole day of use — without recharging, it can withstand up to 10 hours of video viewing or internet browsing via Wi-Fi, and 9 hours when connected via a mobile network. The device charges to 50% in just half an hour via the Thunderbolt/USB 4 port from a 60W adapter. 

Software updates and new features 

So, the most significant updates took place “under the hood.” Let’s compare the specifications and capabilities of the gadget with the previous version. 

The updated gadget supports professional applications, external displays, and accessories. It was released with iPadOS 26, opening up a new level of productivity and comfort thanks to its “glass” design and advanced AI features. For example, the system works better when multitasking, has an updated Files app, and offers instant translation in messages and FaceTime. The result is a compact tablet with the capabilities of a professional laptop.
